American Betrayal by David Michael Green .. notes ..

Some excuses for the first tv watcher et al .. maybe .. but can't totally excuse them.

"But too many others know better. That makes them cowardly and self-serving, and there is no excuse for that."

Got a bit of that that .. myself.

Agree, no doubt the present bover boys have wrinkled the texture for a long long time and now have taken us into one of the greatest and damaging frauds in U.S. history. The spider is fucking it's web.

The "Me' generation can't be all bad, just as no "all" of any generation is bad. Not sure if "there are no statesmen today"; as there sure is a heap of some of "consciousness of others, sacrifice of self, moral sensitivity and historical sagacity,"

about and certainly "all of these qualities are" not "notably absent from (ALL of)this generation." .. How many times has it been said!!!

Oh, .. "not only the Boomers to blame," .. whew .. "their parents as well" .. NOT BLAMING MINE.

Aha, "Ironically, the so-called “Greatest Generation” – which was indeed great in many ways – was also responsible for at least two crucial mistakes that deeply haunt us today." .. even the ..

“Greatest Generation” has it's faults, yet the Boomers get no credits ..

"the "Boomers One (note .. BIG O .. maybe just a typo) was to raise a bunch of self-serving, self-interested children, well-trained for the pursuit of happiness, but woefully unprepared for comprehending or sacrificing what is necessary to sustain and advance the greater good of the commonweal."

SHIT ALL OF US/THEM .. MAN, DAT'S BAD .. just thoughts as I go here .. now reading ahead .. not an A+ for editing correctness .. or, yeah .. perhaps on purpose .. the weal is the deal.

AH, one for the Boomers .. their "political class" didn't stand up ONE LAST TIME, AT THE END, FOR ALL THOSE VALUES WHICH "they knew to be crucial" .. their political class blew it, those in front of the tv, not so bad.

?? How could most Boomers hope to "know them to be crucial" if ALL of "consciousness of others, sacrifice of self, moral sensitivity and historical sagacity, "are notably absent from this generation."???

HOW COULD SO MANY OF THESE BOOMERS BE EXPECTED TO KNOW ALL THES E VALUES TO BE "CRUCIAL" IF THEY WERE "ALL NOTABLY ABSENT" FROM THE GENERATION, AS A WHOLE?

Hmm, I guess he said notably absent, and not all absent.

"why didn’t they? DON'T KNOW what or when IT WAS, YET. .. "both generations" BOOMERS AND THE PARENT, I GUESS .. "traded away everything for nothing. In the end, those who had the most only wound up dissipating their honor and their reputations in a failed attempt to cosset their self-serving pusillanimity."

WOW .. THAT BAD. Wonder, if I'll ever finish and post this?.. it's a long mother and don't know why I started this way.

"scandals .. offenses .. against the republic and its values."' YEP .. But in the past, the worst of these were called out by name, regardless of partisan affiliation. .. ultimately it was Barry Goldwater and fellow Republicans who put an end to Richard Nixon. .. not only because he was destroying them politically, but also because they were offended by his offenses against the nation."

HANG ON HERE WHAT ABOUT IN THE BEGINNING??? ..

Ok, Barry Goldwater was a great PATRIOT .. that tells me more .. 1996 ..

Bill Clinton .. "was subsequently impeached for lying about having oral sex" oops ............................ .. but corrected in "this attempt at political assassination what it was."

ENOUGH, for now Sioux ,, too mucho timo, yhy the f did i start this ?? .. have done it before on others and then not got back .. maybe will just read the rest later, like the rules say one should, CHAO FOR NOW.

"But the new millennium brought a whole other level of abdication to the fore," .. my link for later ..

ps .. am sure the overall piece will be welcome .. lol
