The lying was certainly of a pathological extent. But is sociopathy a legitimate defence? Sure I would not want to be in his shoes right now, and nor would anyone else I suspect!. But how many years of 'golf and titties' -(to quote one of those exhibits)- was Berman funding for himself off the sweat and savings of those he could delude. I bet there's more than a few of his victims would have traded places with him then!
