Cleaning up their books for a potential acquisition by Merck or M2GEN? Perhaps, but more likely just a settlement of a long standing litigation with a disgruntled employee who felt he was wronged by the company. Every litigation has a nuisance settlement value that is well below the cost of continuing the litigation.
