It is pro forma..not so much insincere as just "the thing everone says". not sincere either..lots of times, For instance, the Undertaker ALWAYS says it, too!! LOL!!

Down in Georgia rural areas, they will do some things..make a social occaision of it..bring food, pies and cakes and fried chicken galore.. Leaving the family with a gaggle of stuff to get rid of afterwards.. and some trouble figgerin out which bowl blongs to which lady.
The Dogs and Cats, and the occaisional Possum or Raccoon love it.. they gat dids on what is thrown out back..
