#17277 RE: lone-wolf #17275

Thanks for the update.

I made the sort of call you suggested a couple of weeks ago.

At the time, the answer was 'Illegal Pizza is gone.' It was unclear if something was taking its place.

Google maps currently suggests that another chain restaurant is taking its place, but the corporate HQ for that chain told me (via phone) that it hadn't decided on where to put its first store in Florida, plus Nixon wasn't involved with them.

Based on (other) google-fueled public database searches, it looks like Illegal Pizza flubbed getting some sort of renewal in October 2022 (that included something that looked like a bounced payment check), its business license expired in 12/2022, and now as of Jan 2023 it's being sued (plus evicted?) by the plaza landlord in a contract and indebtedness action.

My guess is that that other chain planned to move into the Illegal Pizza spot, but the unpaid bills has thrown that plan into question.

Since Nixon isn't currently listed as the agent or an officer for Illegal Pizza Lauderhill LLC in the Florida business database, nor has he been since early 2022, arguably he isn't directly to blame for Illegal Pizza failing, but since Nixon owns the 'Colorado branch' of that LLC, he must have knowledge of what's going on, and have known since October 2022.

I know Nixon has been busy with his new restaurants in CO, and I hope they succeed, but I certainly hope handling Illegal Pizza isn't a low-priority side-job for him, especially since the Illegal Pizza link is still on the Illegal Burger main page, and the Illegal Pizza page still says "Temporarily Closed."

But then, the Illegal Burger 'order online' page still lists the now closed Capitol Hill Illegal Burger, and lists it as 'coming soon', and that's NOT going to reopen because it's been replaced by a different (2-store-chain) restaurant owned by someone else.
