I never went to my parents for help with homework

I did. Once. Never again.

It was a simple arithmetic problem like how much would it cost to build a fence around a yard 20 feet wide and 30 feet deep if fencing cost 50 cents per foot.

What was wanted was 50 dollars.

Not with Father's help. He added fence posts, estimating the number needed and the price of each. Nobody fences a yard without a gate. So a gate was added, and of course, gate posts too. And approprite hardware to attach the fencing to the posts was added to the total.

Needless to say, the teacher was suspicious. And not happy. She was also determined that I wouldn't be happy for the rest of the day either. She succeeded. I was miserable..

So. . .

I learned a tiny bit of arithmetic and a great deal about seeking help from adults.

Cheers, PW.
