No attorney would ever take the case even if you could afford to pay them. If you cannot prove a work history through a paycheck or anything else, the case is a loser and no coworker would go to bat because they don't want to wind up in the same boat.
Face it, cash employees get fucked over quite often and they have no recourse unless they have the means to hire a competent lawyer and in 99% of the cases they don't.
Don't give me your bullshit about our legal system. It's geared to screw the disenfranchised. Modern day slaves included, regardless of thee color of your skin.
