Yeah, changing brokers takes 7-10 days because the actual stocks transfer.

If you are buying new shares, you don't need to transfer stocks between brokers. You just need to fund the new account. If that funding is coming from your old account, you can wire money in and out within a day (7-10 days doesn't apply). Only delay is if you are trying to transfer unsettled funds, I think.

But if you are buying with new money, adding a second broker takes hours, not days.
