At least when the Canadian LPs fail, they have the backstop of the CCAA (Canadian equivalent of filing Chapter 11 in the states) . That is because cannabis is federally legal in Canada. In the states, since cannabis touching is a federal offense, the distressed companies will not be able to us the federal courts to file bankruptcy. it's simply not an option. You can't seek relieve in federal courts for your federally illegal business operations. So, these companies are going to have little to no leverage in negotiations, and I see 2023 as the year that stronger companies like SHWZ are going to scoop up some SERIOUS bargains with these financially distressed operators.
