It’s a case to case basis Jim. In our case, equities will not be cancelled out because there is something that we still owned which is the NOL.

Similar case is if the creditors are “paid in full” and there is a left over (or surplus) asset for equity holders.

Although cancellation of equity stocks is very common if nothing is left after the distributions. Specially if creditors are not fully paid.
