#61109 RE: Nothing2c #61107

I don’t see how this works without going deep (down) into the road surface. There has to be adequate room for that battery. I thought of using helical antenna array, and each device would have to connect to the approx 10 or 12 devices in front of it. The vehicle gets pinged by the first device but the handshake and data transfer would take place with devices further down the road. This actually works, however the communication between devices while moderate traffic situation would probably eat up all the bandwidth, without actually communicating with the car. It’s too many vehicles going too fast in too close proximity. The helical antenna helps solve the issue of the antenna polarization mismatch. The vehicle “standard” could be to have the car also fitted with helical antenna.

I have not stopped thinking about this. This was brought up in our afternoon meeting and a few guys had a couple of great ideas. It’s too bad these could not be hardwired.

That isn’t going to happen.
