I called and spoke to a number of people at the Royal Bank of Canada and I was told Americans cannot set up a nonresident trading account. Just what I was told that’s all. Thanks.

I'm not American! But you could ask who would want to form a group to buy shares
Put a post on here twitter and stocktwits there will be a broker that will do it if the order is big enough?
