Fwiw, I never block anyone just because of personal attacks. On the contrary, I laugh when I read them, which, fortunately, rarely happens and consider the attacks badges of honor…

Why on earth would personal attacks from anonymous posters bother you, especially when you don’t know their real identity? Also fwiw, I also know it bothers the attackers even more when you laugh it off…

I thought there was a "filter" option in settings for that purpose, but don't see it now.

Hit "settings" then "my ignores"
The ignore filter is top left of the list of folks you've blocked. It gives the option to ignore public posts of those you have on ignore. Disable this, and private messages are blocked, public posts are not.

It has always been that way. You have the ability to globally toggle filtered (ignored) users on/off when reading the message boards. The PM blocks are always enabled.

We do plan to separate the PM blocklist from the Ignore list.

Every time you put someone on ignore it resets the filters so you won't see that person or anyone else you have on ignore.

You have to reset the filters as shown below. Click on My ignores and you'll see the filters.
