A lot. Nogales is a major point of entry where traffic is funneled into the crossing. They have a lot of technology and dogs, etc. to screen incoming traffic. But the cartels create coordinated chaos elsewhere on the border to distract La Migre with large volumes of "asylum seekers" and then use the vulnerable sections left unmonitored to simply allow drugs, human traffickers and gang members to just walk across. It is amazingly well coordinated by the 2 major cartels who literally control the border (Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel).

This is observation from boots on the ground. I live 50 miles east of Nogales and 13 miles north of the border.
