kpf, see my earlier post. It was mentioned that the site has already been selected and will be announced this quarter. My guess is that they are still finishing the subsidy negotiations and are not willing to announce anything until the ink is on the paper.

It was also in the q3 CC. Ruiz said they would announce plans to build a new 300mm 65nm fab before the end of the year with an unnamed partner.

AMD has enough land left near Fab 30 to build another fab there.

That sorta rules out East Fishkill.

After listening again to Bills statements thisrespectively I agree it rules out a foundry-process.

Perhaps something next door?
Yes. The small development fab next door could well be a possibility. Maybe only tooled with what IBM does not have for AMDs process, outsourcing steps for which IBM has useable tools for in its foundry. K.
