It was a head scratcher. The importing of medical waste, in the middle of a pandemic, from local regions and states to be transported in by truck for processing in a facility that had not been operational and to be run by a company that had no experience in processing waste.
Even with the above said, I think it could have been approved by doing one thing - educating the locals on the benefits, the safety, identifying advocates to promote the project and helping to fund a community benefit in sharing a percent of the profits. Instead, there was a public hearing where residents, residents that lacked basic knowledge of the project, shot holes in the project.
But hey, what do I know, just my opinions.
