I forgot that I created this thread. I suppose an update is in order 9 years later.
My wife is fine, the breast reconstruction took a very very long time because of the method she chose.

What most people don't talk about is the eventual side effects of the chemo. Sexual relations become difficult. But, not to worry, there are treatments that will fix the problem. HOWEVER, the health care system here is quite happy to hack off your breast, reconstruct it, and pay for most of the cost, BUT they are not willing to assist in any way for a treatment that will resume normal sexual relations.

There is a movement now in France to push the government to add this treatment to at least partial reimbursement.
