For the same reason some people believe in creationism, antivaxx-ism, and flat-Earth-ism: a willful rejection of actual, provable knowledge.
There is strong evidence AGAINST astrological horoscopes: Horoscopes are not accurate at all. Get a random horoscope read it to an audience, without telling them whose horoscope it applies to. Then, ask the audience to raise their hands if that horoscope applied to them.
If the horoscope is accurate at all, about 1/12 of the audience will raise their hands.
I’ve done this twice, to two different audiences, and both times, almost all hands shot up. And that either means that everyone in the room was born in the same month, or the horoscope is inaccurate.
And I find it hard to believe that a room with 200 random adults are all born in the same month.
Twins. If a pair of twins are born at the same time and therefore have identical horoscopes, then shouldn’t their lives also be identical?
But they’re not. In some cases, one twin dies early while the other lives to be 80 years old. In some cases, one twin becomes disabled, while the other is in perfect health.
Astrologers can’t agree on anything. If you find one prediction for Aquarius on one website, and find another prediction for Aquarius on another, the predictions are inconsistent.
Similarly, if you visit one astrologer then visit another, both will tell you two very different things.
