To complicate matters, the clinical trial environment has not been friendly since the pandemic started.

This is absolutely wrong. They say where there’s will there’s a way. Since the pandemic, Y-Combinator has a list of all those companies who are able to successfully start clinical trials. And they are able to start clinical trials because their founders are competent, hardworking, smart, brilliant & intelligent people. Their founders really care about their stockholders/investors & they want to create value for their stockholders.

1 of such companies who is able to start US clinical trials in spite of pandemic (or not) is Verge Genomics (YC S15) & many more!
