In iTunes? In Apple TV? Insert DVD and it will ask if you want to import the movie to your library?

It does exist already

Given the imminent shipping of Apple TV and its tie-in with itunes, is it unreasonable to expect dvd ripping to an itunes directory for later viewing the same way itunes rips cds?

Actually, why doesn't that functionality exist already?
