Did Webber ever say, we’re on the……

wreck without confirmation?

Did he ever place a valuation on a wreck he couldn’t identify?

Did he ever expect treasure to be miles from a ballast pile?

Did he take decades to try and determine the origins of a wreck?

The answers are obvious.

BTW…..I know of 3 wrecks located in 200 feet to 5000 ft in the past couple of years, and within a few days or sooner it was determined they either had no valuable cargo or weren’t worth the effort.
