A Remington Model 700 chambered for .223 is nice and affordable IMO. Just remember to be conscience of the rate of twist your barrel has. If you have a high rate of twist like a 1-7 or 1-8 you want a heavier grain bullet. If you go with a 55 grain at a higher twist your round will go crazy and sometimes fall apart.

There are several variables when it comes to shooting. The shooter, the rifle, the optics, and the ammo. If either one is f-ed up you wont get the results you want. What ever you do dont forget to check out your rate of twist for your barrel for .223 especially.
