Desantis was asked by the insurance companies many times to meet with them, he decided each time he was too busy. Each one decided to go bankrupt instead of providing homeowners insurance, the reason was that they knew there was a problem if a catastrophic hurricane hit the state of Florida. Desantis chose on six occasions to ignore each companies request to meet with them to discuss the problem. Desantis close not to deal with insurance for hurricane's, and each time the state had to guarantee those policies that were written. Yes when Desantis made a decision not to work with insurance companies, then he is responsible for making that decision.
