I lived in Holland for 4 1/2 -- anytime you went to a restaurant to eat, expect to be there 2 hours... waiters did not rush us to leave, so someone could take our table. It was expected for you to have a talk with your date while sipping on some wine, then 1/2 hour then order your meal. Many of my fellow Soldiers complained about this, they wanted to waitress to come and rush them out. Eat and get out... they found the service Slow. I found it pleasant and I enjoyed the company, drink, dinner, and a great talk, without feeling rushed
