ah, so i was not losing it, lol. it has been bizarre here for a while, i'm just getting sick of the work of an obvious cabal that extends well past this forum. whattabarf and piggie were doing the lionshare of gekko bootlicking until this iteration and i knew they would be back - but long after others had established their positions here recently.
