Wow, what long winded word salad explanation for not relying on critical thinking skills and instead arriving at 'I dunno'.

It is up to the reader or the content to discern whether they believe or think some of the article has some truth or falseness to them, at best it is a 50-50 swing either way as I see it. Maybe 40-40 with 20 percent no one knows what the author is speaking to in the article posted and presented.

Working against your arguments are a multitude of fact-check sites that do the 'heavy lifting' that shrugging your shoulders does not and cannot do.

Also, check out https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/ which tells you more about your sources than you may care to know.

The wild card in the above is how well informed, how widely read, one is on any subject and how willing one is to think 'that sounds about right but I'm not sure, I'll check it out'.

And of course any knee jerk 'those fact checks are biased' response is a disqualifier for continued argument on any given subject.

livefree_ordie, Fair comment and, though, lol, yep rather word-salady and longwinded ... still well-meant i believe, so appreciated.

Your Disclaimer idea i don't see as useful in any meaningful way. No need i assure you.

As you have observed yourself we do our best to stick with credible information and the best available at the time. And as blackhawks mentioned we often use various reliable fact checkers to help on that score. On this of yours ..

"I would also suggest to this wise astute board and those who post their links to it that they also take on the proper responsibility as I have here in regards to these lined articles and writers as their being factual, truthful or false or not factual in the content they also have found to be on the World Wide Web of information. At best each article found or posted contains a bit of truth and a bit of falsehoods and some other diatribe mixed in for their own personal flair or bias’s.

Remember each person who wrote such an article holds a bias of one sort or another and you must discern whether these links are reliable enough in you’re minds to post and have other humans read them as they are. If you have no such disclaimer in your postings then the rest of the board will of course make the overall assumption that you believe this article to be 100% truthful without fault by the writer and they you or they personally witnessed the story as it occurred in person or the person who has written it did not take it from some unreliable online second or third hand Social Medial platform that are all filled with garbage news and which get edited by robots every day to suit a narrative for them.

To my mind that of yours goes much too far. One can accept generally the crux of an article
without being held to account for every single sentence, or phrase. Further i see in your

some overly cynical, misguided and in fact baseless stuff. To make generalities as yours there, covering all articles from all sites ranging from say Breitbart and Zero Hedge to articles from WAPO, NYT, Vox, Forbes, Foreign Policy, and so many other credible sites, misses the mark by miles.

Take this article for example written by Robert Reich a man with total credibility here.

Democracy is under attack – and reporting that isn’t ‘violating journalistic standards’ .. Robert Reich

Even he may say something not all totally agree with. But we know that any article by him and others as him
would in most every case be assured to be more spot on that virtually any article from Breitbart or Zero Hedge.

It is also legit to post articles which you have many questions about. Mostly articles where the poster feels it is helpful are accompanied by minor personal comment. Of course in posting an article it is assumed mostly that generally the article is credible.

Please, don't put yourself out so much, just don't post.

Claiming a disclaimer and then posting utter false narrative doesn't make one less culpable or avowing what is posted. A post is done for a reason period.
