What is the point, Snow? The China space is a very complicated and problematic space. Even the people in the know, even the people on the inside, even some people working for the company, may not have a good sense of reality and the truth.
I can tell you a number of things though.
1) I have never seen a single director resign with this company in perhaps 10 years, other than being fired or die.
2) If there was something wrong with the assets (plantations) then the BOD would have a duty to investigate, and pursue. And yes, there are quite a few Americans on the Board / working for the company as well now, who could be liable.
My sense has always been that the company is legit. As much as a total of more than 200 subsidiaries in China can be legit ;-) (before the asset swap).
If we get the dividend (with record date in the past) then we'll have to see what is in it. If we don't get it, then there is huge (billions) of value remaining.
