Look at the stocks that she likes. One is Caveat emperor, the other is down over 50% from it's high, in about a month, and this is the stock she says is diluting and will R/S. Someone bought high and sold low, and now wants back in, before it's too late. Making bad trade choices doesn't mean it's a scam. You bought and sold at the wrong time, it happens.
