Those patents likely have limited, if any, value at this point in time..

BioAmber was never able to produce at anything even approaching profitability. Which means the patents really didn't do them much good, did they?

Much of the important technology was licensed by BioAmber, and they never owned it, anyway.

About a million US patents are granted annually. Less than 1% of them actually produce anything of value in their lifetime.
