Of course there's going to be a buy out time table inclusive in the few short weeks estimate during which time the bearish narrative will be "aha, this took longer than a few short weeks (which it hasn't) and so there must be no buy out"
No one will buy the short seller narrative and short sellers will continue to be unable to cover as has been the case for years... because the "bullish bullshit" as you have labeled it still rings truer than the bearish bullshit of nefarious but legally allowed behavior of a secret management enriching themselves over shareholders.
Pretty much all that's left are diehard longs willing to wait it out and even go through the extra effort of having intermediaries acquire shares on their behalf in Canada.
Such diehard longs ain't selling except in the dollars at a price that's 50% higher than Total's price.
