That may be true. But in what way does that matter?
The way I see it they have exactly the amount of eggs that they need and can produce any amount they desire in a month or 2.
KBLB doesn't make silk anymore. They produce eggs now.

Your "current" 85/15 comment IMO is not current at all.
They currently use all worms for breeding since the silk is made at 3rd party vendors. It was 85/15 before they had vendors to grow them.
The Vendors are likely at the 98/2 mark since they are making silk not eggs and any loss of the 2% won't matter because they have an egg source
