This is BAD NEWS. SCOTUS has declined to hear what patent law experts felt was the best chance to clarify the chronic problems with the 101 Alice test. Last week's decision in American Axle v Neapco dealt a death blow to the best case to come forward in years. Experts on both sides of the patent issue encouraged the court to take the case. The Trump and Biden administration both did the same. In the end though, SCOTUS punted. For those interested, there are a ton of articles offering a good review of the state of play in patent law today. Google American Axle v. Neapco. Sadly, it looks like the WDDD legal lifeline just evaporated.
