Maybe the people you talk to are trying to take stock so they can run it up latter. Are they the creeps you get your wave from? Why wouldn't they wait for .01? Then there's the fact that the majority of trades were on the sell side. If you wanted stock wouldn't you wait for all the sell stock to force the price down? Hmmmmmm. Only have to check level 2.
