#48995 RE: tisdal #48992

tisdal, in addition to the anticipated production rate, the size of the production tanks depends on how timely trucks can haul the oil away from the tanks and how Zion is separating oil from water.

I like to use two tanks: fill the first with fluid, then let it settle (water on bottom, oil on top) and unload it while the second tank is being filled; then repeat. Settle time is a day or two; the refinery allows some % of water so it does not have to be perfect.

MJ02 may have separators on site that speeds up the process. If so, then water is going into one tank and oil into the other. Of course the best case is that such a small % of water is produced that settling/separating is not necessary. This is possible on new wells, but over time water becomes an issue.

The pic shows 3 tanks; one tall and two shorter but larger dia. Its difficult to tell from the pic, but it looks like the shorter tanks are larger capacity. Its just a guess, but I would say the tanks are suitable for 5k to 10k barrels of fluid per day. Also, these may not be the final sets of tanks; more could be on the way. These tanks might have been for DST, which is in bursts; not continuous like production. So, again, Zion will have to tell us what the bopd is, but big tanks are a good sign.
