I didn’t mean to be picky but the folks in charge of designing and running clinical trials get upset when they’re told their trial was unsuccessful, if in fact the study recruited the right number of patients, the protocol was workable and observed, the CRFs were completed and collected, the stats package worked etc etc even if the study results are negative from the sponsor’s perspective.
