The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA; Arabic: ???? ??? ?????????) is Qatar's sovereign wealth fund. The QIA was founded by the State of Qatar in 2005 to strengthen the country's economy by diversifying into new asset classes. In 2021, the QIA had an estimated $300 billion of assets.[3][4]

They have and continue to position themselves for oil investments in Africa.
