One other thing about these meetings, they do generally stick to a pretty tight schedule and end on time or early, in part because the panel members come in from all over the country and often have to catch a plane out soon after the meeting ends.

I went to the panel meeting on Tysabri, which they expanded from one day to two days because so many members of the public (patients with MS, doctors, family members) wanted to speak at the meeting, which they did the first day. Unfortunately, there were so many people they had a strict three minute time limit, so some people were cut off before they finished because they didn't plan well or became so emotional or had sufficient difficulty speaking because of the disease. Several people sent in videotapes of their comments because they were too sick to travel.
