gfp: Bob Rinear said just a few hours ago that is the S&P fails to stay above 4000 that it will drop to at least 3800 pretty quickly. Gold is actually putting in a nice cup & handle chart over the last 2 years. It's frustrating to watch but just about everything is getting beaten down. Bitcoin has been the worst. I remember when we rallied over 42,000 not that long ago. It might drop into the high $20K range this week. In the short run you're positioned well, but not over the an intermediate to long term perspective. Inflation is not going away by a 50 basis point rise in the Fed funds rate, or a series of such moves. The Fed and the ECB and the BOJ kept interest rates at essentially zero for almost a decade. The inflation genie is out of the bottle. Everything we buy is rising in price...not year over year....but month over month...sometimes week over week.
