Brokerages need to know they have the capital to pay out if this squeezes. Meaning the broker is concerned even on the long side. This happened to AMC, GME and SPRT before the squeezes. There will be major shenanigans played

Most brokers already have a 200 or 300% margin requirement for ATER.
