Insider buying is not an always accurate barometer. Insiders can be just as blind, ie emotionally involved with the stock where they no longer can be objective. One such great example I was familiar with was an insider making public statements as to his stocks direction and brazenly purchasing shares on the open market where he received a margin call on his own stock purchases. It seemed buying at $5.25 a share and getting the MC at below $3.00 was not a great move.
