I don't have much to add and agree with your major premises. I'm hoping that the AF test could spur Leo to move in response to an offer we have no idea will come, and even that could be a year or more away. And, really, no solid way to get any decent info re AF progress or lack of it. And I have near zero faith that the gov/institute invitro testing will lead to anything of value for IPIX.

"Finally paying back all of his loan (after years of leaving it on the balance sheet) at a time when we are desperate for money to move forward signals to me that he is not confident that we will get more funding."

Maybe that's what it means (I'm not so sure). The fact that he took all his old salary supports the idea. He has taken over $3,000,000 in cash out of the Company in the last two years.
He can always get more funding. The question is about its cost to shareholders. The preferred deal was every dilutive and there's more where that came from if he wants it....watch for convertible notes. There are plenty of lenders who will sign a deal for discounted shares as long as there is a market for them NO MATTER HOW LOW THE PRICE MAY BE and regardless of any operational considerations.
But what would he do with the money? As you have pointed out the Company hasn't eaten into its cash (made any significant investments in trials) in months.
