Quite the opposite, company's can't comment on partnership or buyouts as they cause market manipulation just by the announcement. The standard is "we don't comment on rumors...."

NP constantly manipulated the market by falsely claiming deals in the works. That's part of why he is "resigned" and under SEC/DOJ investigation.
