The hobby miner has decided he wants to build a barge. A one-man show doesn't have to clear these kinds of decisions with anybody, certainly not his long-suffering investors.

Maybe he found out that mining deeper than the top 10 or 15 feet ain't so easy. Or cheap. So, heading to Alaska!
