No, ofspring, there is no data showing that vitamin C, vitamin D, or fresh air, or chicken soup prevents or shortens the course of influenza. Now there is no reason not to consume chicken soup when one is ill and no reason you should not consume orange juice. Prevention of these illnesses requires one to avoid exposure to the virus; you know, like wearing a mask if you are in a high risk environment. Or better yet, avoid being exposed to people who might be carrying the virus.
Vaccination is essential to a population at risk. It’s that simple.
