The NWS is pretty simple from a political standpoint: (1) the adversaries of the gses and the "Wall Street needs to pay" Americans, loved it (2) the opposite political party controlled the nations purse strings and didn't want to fund BO'S legacy achievement (i.e., Obamacare) (3) Barry could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, replenish the General Operating Fund at the US Treasury to provide funding for already approved appropriations under Obamacare and in theory make those evil Wall Street Banksters pay!

Now that's doing the RIGHT THING, RIGHT!
