The farmer is always at the bottom of the food chain. “In what world would a farmer just let a valuable crop rot?” In the farming world…. PEI dumped their entire potato crop this year because of a blight. Milk producers do it regularly. Every crop has waste associated with it. And we are in a society that will not pay a penny extra to those that feed us but will pay thousands for hockey tickets or a hand bag. Sorry you are just coming to this understanding now. If they are just in it for the money they will have to adjust to the market like every other farmer. If they are making medicine and giving it to patients nothing changes. They have gotten used to getting thousands of dollars for a pound of plants that cost them very little to grow. The premium for breaking the law is gone. Real business has overhead, licensing and taxes. I agree california’s taxes have been ridiculously high so they need to get together and get it changed either at the ballot box or legislature. You will find customers will just buy what is cheap, the consumer is not very loyal. Mom and Pop businesses got that lesson long ago, when walmart arrived. The chinese are buying north america with their own money. I think it is wonderful. Those folks have slaved to make our trinkets made their air unbreathable cuz we will not pay our neighbour a decent wage. If we do not value what we have we lose it. We are all just folks making our way the best we can. You could encourage your friends to buy The cpg cannabis stocks so they get to benefit from the industry they built. Tinley is 15 cents canadian today…… banks and hedge funds can not buy it until it is federally legal and that is going to happen quickly. Do not tell them to buy canopy tho please……there are so many opportunities for the individual investor right now! It is not the MSOs! They will have a pop on the hype for sure but they will face the same baggage we have here. Everybody is buying greenhouses over building cuz they will take over the world. Cocacola does not grow its own sugar cane. Quality indoor will always command a good dollar. Columbia or vats will supply what goes in to the products. You can look at my thread to see where I think the industry is going. Is it for sure? Nothing is. It it a very educated guess by someone who has been immersed in this sector since 2015? Yup.
