Yes that’s an article from our government specifically the NIH (National Institute of Health).

1. That article is NOT "proof" from the "U.S. government." It's an article hosted in their database.

2. NCBI is largely database of articles. From their site:

the NCBI has been charged with creating automated systems for storing and analyzing knowledge about molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics; facilitating the use of such databases and software by the research and medical community; coordinating efforts to gather biotechnology information both nationally and internationally; and performing research into advanced methods of computer-based information processing for analyzing the structure and function of biologically important molecules.

3. The article is from scientists at the University of Chicago (NOT the U.S. government). Mouse over the author's names for their information.

4. The article is a pre-print....from Mar 10, 2021. A pre-print is a study that has NOT been peer reviewed yet. This is an important factor in the world of scientific study/papers (passing peer review).

5. The article is about their in vitro study. NOT in vivo. In vitro = work that's performed outside of a living organism (i.e. in a pietri dish, test tube, etc). In vivo = done with or within an entire, living organism (i.e. testing in humans, other mammals, etc). This, of course, is a significant difference.
