I got a freakin' nightmare on the go here.
Renewed my Norton this week. Ho-hum, had this pc since 2003 and ran Norton all along. Seamless, don't even know it is there.
Did the download and back to business. Then I start getting popups telling me my subscription has expired. HUH?
Finally called Norton and got some dude who couldn't understand me any better than I could him. Told me to uninstall old Norton and reload.
That didn't work with the Windows utility about three times. PC is bogged down totally when this program is in it.

Finally found a utility on their website that wiped the slate clean.
Machine is lightening fast again.
Download again and go through it all AGAIN...looking good...but wait..."your subscription has expired...please renew"...
Yet it is running a scan, it has done an update.

It is absolutely thrashing Outlook, barely runs. Excel is a mess. Dumps Firefox at will.
Got my CPU running at 30+% doing this scan

Fuck me
I have about 10 hours into this $60 piece of shit software.
Nobody answering the phone
The return process is another maze in the making.

Never again.

Oh for the days when the IT dep't was handing out McAfee cds.

I feel much better now.
