Moderna Inc. Chief Medical Officer Paul Burton said he suspects the new omicron coronavirus variant may elude current vaccines

I found the Moderna's CMO's state somewhat premature and in some ways, promotional for MRNA stock. It would make more sense to say.... "IF the new omicron coronavirus variant eludes current vaccines..." that they can develop a new vaccine to manage that variant.

Saying he suspects is "may elude current vaccines" is a VERY influential statement, especially for all of those people being vaccinated already and feeling they are now at some large risk if being compromised by the new variant.

I am hearing South African doctors who are seeing these cases in their country saying all of the cases of children getting this variant has been extremely mild.

Once again, the Moderna CMO and others in the company are putting out premature statements before they HAVE THE SCIENCE/DATA IN HAND.

This off Bloomberg cable TV feed: "Asymptomatic Virus Update - The current generation of Covid-19 vaccines probably will still protect against severe disease in people infected by the variant, BioNTech SE Chief Executive Officer Ugur Sahin said.
That contrasted with statements from shotmaker Moderna Inc., which predicted vaccines will struggle with omicron."

Very irresponsible of Moderna to have said this!! Scaring people to keep living their lives more normally with their statements. Sad.
