Hopefully the existing vaccines will be effective against this new South African variant, but it will take a few weeks to get a better understanding of their efficacy .... in the meanwhile this could weigh on the market, especially if negative data about the new variant continually trickles in.

After being hit over the head shorting off and on for months regardless of being long or short, I don't know how to play this market. Thing is, just because TZA just went up 35% doesn't mean it was a sell in the $28s. Now that we can see that COVID is alive and well, with mutations every few months, together with super high valuations and run away inflation, I personally believe it's no longer time to buy the dips. I personally just took out 75% of my portfolio over the last two months, and as I mentioned, now have only 8% of my cash I'm playing with as of next week.

Hweb, I personally feel very strongly not to play this market on the long side, but at the same time, not sure to play on the short side yet either. However I believe now is safer on the short side than any time in the last several months.
